Squid Industries x Hom Design Mutalisk

The Mutalisk represents the culmination of two distinct philosophies brought together through a shared passion for the balisong. HOM Design built its reputation by creating some of the most iconic knife designs in the community, while Squid Industries pushed the boundaries of modern manufacturing, precision machining, and performance-focused engineering. This collaboration unites the defining strengths of both companies into a single platform, creating what we believe is the ultimate expression of our respective design languages.

Inspired by the legendary Basilisk first introduced in 2007, the Mutalisk carries forward the unmistakable blade profile that helped shape an entire generation of balisongs. That timeless design is paired with Squid Industries' signature channel aluminum handles, bringing together classic aesthetics with the rigidity, precision, and consistency that have become synonymous with our products. The result is a balisong that feels instantly familiar while delivering a level of refinement only possible through years of continued innovation.

Every aspect of the Mutalisk was engineered with performance in mind, featuring a balance profile comparable to the Tsunami—neutral, responsive, and confidence-inspiring whether you're linking technical rollovers or throwing powerful aerials. For those looking to carry the Mutalisk every day, an optional titanium latch provides the convenience of secure retention without compromising its character. And for enthusiasts who enjoy fine-tuning their flipping experience, an optional spacer kit which offers another level of customization, allowing subtle refinements to the balance and feel. The Mutalisk is more than a collaboration—it's the meeting point of two legacies, built to honor the past while defining the future.
